Welcome to my love of Millinery.
Jayne is the founder of Jayne Elizabeth Millinery.
I was born in Torquay, Devon.
I have always had a keen eye for detail and a strong interest in fashion, from as early as I can remember I was always making things from fabrics, leather and metal, cutting up garments and costume jewellery and up cycling them into new creations!
I moved to London to study Fashion Design in which I specialised in Millinery, at The London College of Fashion. I have also worked and studied a little in costume design theatrical millinery.
After graduating I worked in fashion retail, design and production with a particular focus on bridal wear and predominantly millinery.
I spent eight years working for couture society milliner Eda Rose, producing collections for renowned stores, including Harrods and Selfridges, and creating bespoke designs for client commissions.
I then started my own brand ‘Jayne Elizabeth Millinery’ in 2005 and have never looked back.
“I am very passionate about millinery, and consider it to be an art form, a fusion of fashion sculpture and art. I absolutely love the variety of projects and challenges with hat making.”
